Carbon Steel Bandsaw Blades

Hints on Welding
A bad weld is often a cause of trouble. Our Blades are easy to weld. But the welding operation itself needs some attention. It is always advisable to follow instructions supplied with the welder.

Preparation of the blade ends, proper positioning and alignment in the clamping jaws, proper upset pressure for each blade width are essential.

1. Ends should be cut at right angles to the back edge of the blade.

2. Ends should be cleaned and should be free from oil/grease.

3. When the ends are placed in the welder jaws, there should be no overlapping of the blade. Excessive pressure results in a lapped weld, while inadequate pressure results in burnt out spots at the weld. Select right current setting.
